Gardenia 37
Arriving at the site, we can timidly perceive a figure among the vegetation.
A monumental colonnade, 7 meters high, embraces and protects the building behind it. It overhangs it and rests on top of it, sheltering it and blurring the massive volume behind it.
On reaching the entrance, the building has disappeared. There is nothing to make us perceive what is behind the fence. On entering, we find direct views of the plot, and only then are we aware that we are on the roof of a large building and that its access is through a small volume that emerges from the ground.

The entire floor is directly related to the exterior, giving way to a terrace, the swimming pool area, and, later, the plot area.
A large pergola covers the entire terrace, which is visible from the outside and takes centre stage in the project. This generates an enclosed space that provides shelter and protection and breaks up the hard volumetry of the housing space.

Gardenia 37 is a project in which one descends.
It is a large volume set into the mountainside, split in two by a courtyard that divides the guest house from the main dwelling.

Gardenia 37 is a project that blends into the hillside, forms part of it and disappears while respecting the landscape.

The staircase, with its double height, sews all the floors of the building together vertically.
The bedroom floor gives access to the day floor, which is understood as a longitudinal space articulated by the staircase itself. It separates the dining room and kitchen from the living and reading area.

Privileged location on the island of Mallorca
After crossing the golf course and starting to climb the hill, we arrive at the Camp de Mar housing estate in Andratx, Mallorca. This area is of great scenic interest, connected with the Mediterranean forest and the proximity and presence of the sea.
