Gardenia 37

Gardenia 37 is a project that merges with the hillside, becomes one with it, and vanishes into the landscape with respect.
Arriving at the site, we can faintly discern a form amid the vegetation.
A monumental colonnade, seven metres high, embraces and shelters the building behind it. It rises above and rests upon it, offering protection and blurring the solid volume concealed beyond.
Upon reaching the entrance, the building has vanished from view. Nothing reveals what lies beyond the enclosure. Once inside, we are met with direct views of the plot, and only then do we become aware that we are on the rooftop of a large building, accessed via a small volume that emerges from the ground.

The entire floor maintains a direct connection with the exterior, opening onto a terrace, the pool area, and the garden plot.
The terrace is entirely sheltered beneath a large pergola, visible from the outside and assuming a leading role in the project. This creates a defined space that offers shelter and protection, breaking the rigid volumetry of the dwelling’s interior.

The home’s volumes.
Gardenia 37 is a project designed to descend. It is a large volume set into the mountainside, split in two by a courtyard that divides the guest house from the main dwelling.

Gardenia 37 is a project that blends into the hillside, forms part of it and disappears while respecting the landscape.

The staircase, with its double height, sews all the floors of the building together vertically.
The bedroom floor gives access to the day floor, which is understood as a longitudinal space articulated by the staircase itself. It separates the dining room and kitchen from the living and reading area.

A privileged location on the island of Mallorca.
After crossing the golf course and beginning the ascent up the hill, we arrive at the Camp de Mar residential area, in the Andratx region of Mallorca. An area of outstanding scenic value, closely connected to the Mediterranean forest and characterised by the proximity and presence of the sea.
