Casa Dosmurs

Alella, Barcelona
182 m2
2022
Maxime Delvaux & Benji Iborra

A Mesura house built by Ubiko.

Casa Dosmurs appears in a stunning natural setting where the sea and mountain meet. It is implanted on the slopes of the Catalan mountain range without turning its back on the coast. The exposed concrete and red brick materials give a unique personality to a house that breathes good architecture and a taste of design in every corner.

The structure of this exceptional house is based on two lateral load-bearing walls that support a home located on the side of a mountain with sea views.

The project’s concept was to expose all materials to show the duality between tradition and industrialisation. That is why the house’s interior is so unique: it respects the pure essence.

The construction of this house was a great challenge. We faced a plot of land with approximately 13 metres of unevenness and disaggregated terrain, making laying foundations considerably problematic.

It was the first time we had worked with such a steep slope, and we had to adapt the project to our precast concrete construction system. To do this, we simplified the structure as much as possible to facilitate assembly and made customised parts that could be adapted to the slope of the terrain.

The entire house is focused on its sea views, with large windows in the upper area. It is also situated in a privileged location on the side of a mountain.

In addition, the materials are left exposed without any intervention to achieve a pure and clean style. The ceiling beams, lighting, and characteristic red bricks on both walls are also exposed.
