Can Granat
Can Granat, located in the municipality of Llucmajor, receives its name from the mineral found on the plot—a sandstone typical of the island of incredible beauty and hardness.
In this project, we fundamentally worked on the house’s aesthetics, covered by a mantle of land with a large amount of granat stone.
From the outside, only the first floor is visible.
As you go deeper into the house, it is as if the land itself were opening up, as if an invisible mantle were rising, uncovering itself as you advance, making you feel sheltered by the volume of the first floor, which is cantilevered out, resting on the structure of the house and on the elevation of the land itself.
In the excavation work, the uncovered stone gives a more artisanal and natural touch.
This love for nature and organic things is perfectly embodied in the beautiful bathrooms, especially the main bathroom. The materiality of the stone and the washbasin wood are Mediterranean. In addition, it is separated from the main suite by a natural lattice, also in wood, which acts as a visual filter.
The clients have an excellent sensibility for architecture and design, a fact that is latent in the qualities chosen in the conformation of their home.
