The Mallorcan municipality of Calvià borders the sea through mountainous terrain.

The plot of this house is located in the second sea line behind a four-floor block of flats and on a steeply sloping surface. The northern orientation of the terrain and the views, together with the steep slope of the plot, marked the premises from which the proposal was planned.

This is an area of single-family housing, where the main value in the area for the owners is to be able to enjoy views over the sea. In this way, the house sits in a staggered position, to place itself in the highest part of the plot, and turned in the direction of the road, to open up a gap towards the sea between the blocks of flats.

The façade is designed through a continuous single-line lintel, which turns on the first floor to focus the main bedroom on the views of the bay.

The prefabricated concrete walls solve both the structure and the house’s façades, in which this concrete envelope was assembled entirely in three days, thanks to complex industrialisation carried out to the millimetre.

These concrete walls of workshop-controlled manufacture, the treated glass, and the insulated perimeter chambers, are combined with passive energy generation systems and self-consumption by means of water collection, solar energy, and aerothermal energy. Exterior sustainability in form of construction and interior sustainability in form of consumption, for a house that adapts to its surrounding bay.
